Hi Megan,
I hope you can post this for a card shower to Daniel Falconer ... a friend of mine. Cards of encouragement can be sent to:

The 26-year-old Stanton man was diagnosed in April 2008 with rhabdomyosarcoma, also known as high-grade undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma, a disease in which cancerous cells grow in muscle tissue. He's been through surgery, chemotherapy and radiation and in February he underwent another major surgery to remove a tumor and reconstruct his face.
By June, the cancer had spread again. Rudd underwent three days of chemo from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. - an exhausting process with many unpleasant side effects. But the chemo didn't work. Rudd has been sent home to his father, along with a nurse from Great Lakes Hospice. Doctors have said there is nothing more they can do.
If you would like to publish the 2 local newspaper articles (last one published 7/10/10) with more details on his fate:

I am an SOC distributor in Australia. My 17 year old son, Dylan, has just been diagnosed with an aggressive, destructive tumour in his sinuses. The tumour has perforated his eye socket, and is pressing against his brain.
He is scheduled for surgery tomorrow. ( July 17) It is a very large and aggressive tumour.
AS I am in the middle of fighting cancer myself, Dylan's situation is of great concern. We will have to wait a week to know if it is benign or not.
Dylan is a top student in year 11 and has a promising soccer career ahead of him.
As you can imagine he is scared and unsure of his immediate future.
It would be great if he could receive some cards of encouragement and to make him laugh again.
Thank you for you time and consideration,
Ayn

Hi Jordan,
I am on the road and do not have my list of email addresses ... I just got word that Judy Loucks in my downline had a stroke on Friday... and cards from our SOC community would be so wonderful. She is in intensive care in Austin, TX ... Her mailing address at home is 134 Pine Shadow Lane, Bastrop, TX 78602 ... if you could forward this to the right parties to get this word out, it would be very much appreciated. I have your email only because of the email that was sent to me. My lap top, for whatever reason does not hold them ... so as I get emails on the road I can click reply and be able to stay in contact ... I would love for Judy to see what a wonderful community she is a part of ... it could be just the thing to propel her healing.
Thanks,

Cats are not people. Or are they?
I had planned to get back into the routine of business today, but
unfortunately we had to drive my daughter Jen to the cat hospital
to have Jake put to sleep after losing his fight with lymphoma.
Jen and my wife Carole have saved and found homes for over a
hundred feral kittens and cats and in the process, for over a
dozen of them, the home they found ended up being ours.
But Jake was the special one, the most un-catlike of them all.
In cat years at age 10, he was not that old, but of course, just
like humans, there are no guarantees of how many years we
will be alloted.
Those who are cat people know what Jen is going through.
Should kindred spirits wish to share thoughts with her......

She spent the morning on the deck with him where he enjoyed, and he really
did, a final morning in the Florida sunshine surrounded by the sound
of doves and the fragrance of gardenias and jasmine and lemon trees.
Several days ago signs began to appear around our home in
various places. They said, "SOMETHING GOOD WILL HAPPEN TODAY!"
Perhaps today's "good" is to simply remember that every day
should be lived to the hilt with the "Jakes" in our life.

Dear Jordan,
We have a close family friend, who is also our daughter's boyfriend. His name too is Jordan, and he needs the support of SOC! He is 25 years old and is bravely fighting the fight with cancer. He has melanoma and it has spread to his entire spine, hips and brain. Cancer in your bones is one of the most painful cancers there is, yet, he is composed and never complains. After enduring radiation therapy and the side effects that follow, he is anxiously starting a new research drug tomorrow. This drug has shown great promise to those who have a poor prognosis to survive the cancer. Cards with an encouraging message would be greatly appreciated. He is a wonderful young man with hopes and dreams for the future. Since a positive attitude is so very important in surviving cancer, we thought it would be heartening for him to receive cards from our SOC family.
Thank you so much,
Tony and Barb Hepp,

Hi Megan,
I would like to ask you to ask all the members to send a card of encouragement
to my husband Andy Webb (at the address below) who is giving up smoking.
And another card to my grandsons Mitchell (8) and Dylan (5) (who both have autism- different spectrums of course!) Mitchell is going through a extremely rough time and my daughter Felicity, their mum, is trying to get specialist help due to the fact that life has become so difficult and Mitchell wants to leave life and be with his grand father and Angel (his still-born cousin).
This of course is so very hard for us all and because it falls under mental health and disability, no-one knows what and who needs to stand up to the plate to help. We know of children with autism who have successfully taken their own lives who were Mitchell's age. Cards and encouragement for Felicity and Brett and our two most beautiful boys would be so appreciated. A loving granma's plea from her SOC friends I know and believe could help my wonderful family in time of need.

Dear Megan,
The boyfriend of our family friend, Ashley Glantz, was injured seriously last week while serving in the army. Not only is Ashley worried about her boyfriend, her only brother, Timmy, was in the same unit and saw the blast which injured his best friend. Here is the info about the injured boyfriend.....
PFC Kristopher Francisco, 24 years old, left the US on May 12th to serve our country in his first tour for the army in Afghanistan. On June 10th, while on Combat Missions Patrol, Kristopher's truck was blown up by an IED and flew 10 ft in the air and then rolled down a hill. Kristopher was the most injured from the blast--both femurs were broken, many lacerations, a concussion, elbow injury, etc. He was in ICU at first but stabilized enough to be moved to Germany and then, Walter Reed Army Hospital on Sunday, the 13th. He received the Purple Heart for his service while in the hospital in Germany. Today, he had surgery again and will no doubt be in for a long recovery period.
Please send him cards to help him get through the days of pain and recovery. Also, please keep this brave young man and his family in your prayers.

Hi Jordan
I wanted to ask a favor dealing with promptings.
A good friend of mine, Jessica Delfs, who is also a retail Send Out Cards member in my organization, has been chosen as one of the contestants on the next "Biggest Loser", which is in the process of shooting right now. She is completely cut off from the world.. No internet, phone, email, facebook, NOTHING. The only thing she can receive is traditional mail.
Myself and members of my gym, along with some Send Out Cards team members, are sending her heartfelt cards to keep her motivated while she competes in one of the most amazing experiences of her life!
I wanted to ask if you would be willing to share her information with your Send Out Cards organizations, asking them that if they feel prompted too, they can send her heartfet cards to keep her motivated while on this journey.
She is an incredible young woman who has a heart of gold. i would love it if we, the Send Out Cards community, could help her reach her goal of completing this "Biggest Loser" season with the help of our heartfelt, motivational cards.
Here is the information she sent to Her facebook friends to let us know how we can keep in touch with her

Megan,
There is a family friend in need of our love right now. Her name is Savannah and she is 12 years old. Yesterday (June 7th) her mother, Deana, wasn’t feeling well and laid down to take a nap. Savannah went to check on her only to find that her mom had passed away in her sleep. Deana was only 35 and it is a blow to everyone who knows this family. Please send Savannah a card to help her through this.

One of my former college classmate's wife and toddler son died in a swimming pool accident earlier this week. Johnny and Sonja had just recently adopted twin boys and were enjoying their new family. One of the twins feel into the pool and Sonja, who could not swim, jumped in to try to save him. Obviously it's a difficult time for the family. I would really appreciate it if the send out cards family would shower them with cards. A link to the story from the Baton Rouge Advocate is listed below.

Hi Jordan and Megan,
Today is my birthday and I have a wish! My daughter KateLyn Laswell is about to turn the monumental age of 13. I really would like to shower her with as many birthday cards for her 13th birthday! Shower her with words of encouragement and what people liked the most about becoming a teenager. My husband and I adopted her from birth and she weighed 2lbs 15oz! She has always been an inspiration and is fantabulous! Sweet and kind to everyone! She has a call on her life to be something great and we are so proud and excited for her! She is an overcomer and always thinks of others! We are blessed that God gave her to us! My husband and I have recently had several deaths in our family, unemployment and there have been times we would have to put her on hold until things settled. She has been such a trouper through all the many deaths that she has been through in the past few years with no complaints. Especially all the out of town visitations. It has been a trying time for all of us. Her grandma battled cancer for almost 5 years and just passed away last month. We just want to make her feel special with as many birthday cards for her! Finally make this birthday so special and all about her! this would mean so much to her! *smile* She gets so tickled when she gets a card....Lets Show her how big SendOutCards is! Show her that this is her BEST YEAR EVER! Thank you and many blessings to you all! Birthday is June 5th and cards can be sent to KateLyn Laswell 4792 Nettie Ave Las Vegas, Nevada Love From the Laswell's~Bryan, LaGina, and KateLyn!

Hi Megan,
I am writing to update everyone on our family friend, Kendra Easley, who I wrote in about last year. She is a 22 year old, single Mom of an adorable son (17 month old named Peyton) who has been battling Stage 4 non-Hodgkins Lymphoma for about 16 months now. This past week she got bad news of the cancer spreading which will delay her scheduled bone marrow transplant. After a small break from chemo, she was put back on chemo and pills this week, and has now moved into the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge to be near the hospital. While she is at the Hope Lodge, for who knows how long, she cannot be with her precious boy and that will be really hard for her. As you can imagine, he is why she fights so hard to beat this cancer. Her family is as supportive as they can be, but maybe not as functional as they need to be. She is very independent and strong willed, but I am sure it would be helpful to her to feel the love and support from the SOC world! Once she gets through this round of chemo, if she can proceed with the transplant, it will be at least a couple of months before she can go home and be with Peyton. I am hoping we can shower her with cards and whatever while she is at the Hope Lodge to give her something to look forward to each day. I have attached a picture of Kendra at Christmas (with her bald head covered) and of Peyton with his uncle so you can see her reason for living. Please keep Kendra in your prayers and give her even more reasons to keep up her battle.

Hello everyone,
If you can find it in your heart to send a card of encouragement to my friend Delois please do so. Here is her story: Delois lost her husband Curtis a few months ago and is going through a very difficult period of grieving (understandably so). She has 4 children, 2 teen boys at home, 1 married daughter who lives across the country and 1 son in the Navy. Delois is a wonderful artist and poet. She draws beautiful African art. Her plan is to become a SendOutCards distributor and use her art on the cards. Here is a quote from her: "Life has a way of making your dreams take a back seat. I am determine that it won't be long. Thanks, keep encouraging me. Satan has a way of using the illusion that you are alone. I even feel it more since Curtis is gone."

Dear SOC friends,
I have a goal of wanting to get tons of cards to my father and his two
stepdaughters. I don't know if you have seen my FB page, but we lost my
stepmother to cancer on Thursday morning. My sister and I flew out to
Arkansas on Wed to say our goodbyes to her, and to be there with our dad and
Kay's two daughters. She passed away very early Thursday morning - she had
been battling multiple myeloma for almost 22 months. My father and Kay had
only been married for just a few years, and she was diagnosed right after
Matt and I were married (diagnosed in Aug 2008). Our wedding was really the
last time she was "cancer-free" and enjoying a dressy night out. It was the
last time she danced.
The very sad part of this whole thing is that her two daughters are only 18
and 23. The 18 year old, Abbey (who already had lost her father to cancer
when she was young), is graduating high school the day after her mother's
funeral (which is May 24th). The older daughter, Lesley, had been her
mother's caregiver for the past 10 months in Arkansas. She gave up her life
in CA to be by her mother's side.
Kay's passing brought my sister and I much closer to our stepsisters. Kay
was the greatest love of my father's life, and this will surely be a very
hard struggle for him. I would love if not only he, but his two
stepdaughters, could receive many, many cards to uplift and encourage them.
Abbey had been accepted on a volleyball scholarship to college in Hendrix
(very close to Little Rock, where her mother was fighting for her life).
However, with her mom's passing, Abbey has decided not to attend college
there.
Thank you so much for sending this "random act of kindness" out to your
team, and friends. It means the world to me to know they would be
surrounded by heartfelt words of encouragement and hope.

To all of those who have already sent cards to Kay while she was in her last
moments, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I appreciate the efforts
from you all, especially those of you who don't know my family personally.
Nevertheless, every single card matters to them. In the past few days, I
have received numerous cards from my SOC friends, and it has meant to much
to me. I want my father and sisters to feel the same kind of love and
encouragement. Thank you all.

Dear Send Out Cards Family,
I don't know if this is the right way to do this or not, but I was moved (strongly prompted) to call upon my great Send Out Cards Family to send positive, encouraging messages to my college friend who thought her battle with cancer was done, and then in February it came back with a vengeance. Julie and her husband, Rod will no doubt be very blessed by each of you able to send a card. I copied this from her Caring Bridge website http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/juliecollins/
Julie's story started Nov. 2004 with metastatic ovarian carcinoma with a CA-125 test at 712. We got rid of all of it until June 28th 2009. We saw her abdomen packed full of Ovarian cancer with a liver 2 1/2 times larger, and spleen twice it size all full of cancer. There was a softball size, baseball, and egg size mass plus a CA-125 test at 2348. We had one chemo an visit Julie's family in MN and head to St. Joseph Medical Center in Mexico. After 10 weeks the CT scan showed Julie was free from all the masses of cancer and the liver and spleen were back to normal which we give thanks to the Lord Jesus. The second week of Feb. we had a scan and found a large mass. Julie had a 2.5 lb football size tumor removed at St Francis Campus, Wichita KS. Since then the tumor has grown bigger than before. At this point in time Julie has spent more time in the Hospital than at home from mid Feb. to mid April 2010. Thank you for your Prayers. The presence of the Our Lord and Savior has been very real.

Hi Megan, We have a friend who is going through some rough times right now. I don't want to go into details, but her house being robbed was just one more little thing on the big pile that she is dealing with. Fortunately she has a loving husband, a few real friends, and some of her family that is supportive.
If anyone could send a card with some kind words it would be appreciated.
Her name is Barb Coleman 3792 Mosley Rd. Cazenovia,NY 13035

Hi Jordan, My husband and I joined the SOC family in December and are loving every minute of it! In January a close friend of ours was having some medical problems which she thought was a flu bug. To make a very long story short she ended up in the hospital around the 5th of January. The next day had to have emergency surgery and ended up on life support. The entire lining of her stomach was black and dead as were part of her intestines. She was in kidney failure, her blood preasure and heart rate could not be stabilized and she was in intensive care for about 8 weeks. Several times we were told she may not make it through the night. She just came home from the hospital (after a stay in a rehab facility). She was in the hospital from January 5th until April 24th. To make matters worse, they had no insurance--his business was failing--they were about to lose their home. In spite of their own problems they had just opened their home and took in a homeless couple. These are wonderful loving Christian people who were really down on their luck--but they never took their eyes off of Jesus and he did bring her through. Although she is home now, she is still unable to walk--she is in a wheel chair and must have 24 hour care. I think it would cheer her up to receive some up lifting cards. If you could put this out on your site, I would be so appreciative and I know it would really brighten her day! Thank you so much, LaRue & Dee Roberts

HI Megan - I didn't realize this was part of thecoolbuzz site until tonight. I am a fairly new distributor and try to listen to as many calls as I can.
The reason for my email is to share about my family. I received a phone call on (last) Wednesday morning from my brother, Joey - that my parent's had a fire at their house at 4am that morning. Luckily - they, and my brother Matt, who moved back in with them about a year ago, are fine. Everyone got out of the house. The house on the other hand, is in fairly bad shape. The fire started in a detached garage from faulty wiring. No one knew anything like this could have happened. It lead to an attached garage, onto the laundry room, and then to the family room, where Matt had been sleeping that evening. Everything, including 3 vehicles, computer, televisions, family memories, photos, and other irreplaceable possessions were destroyed.
This fire, is not something they needed (well, no one would). They seem to continually have terrible luck, and I hope and pray it is over. You see, as for the fire - my parents do not own the home they are living in. They have had financial difficulty, and had to get rid of the home I (and my brothers) grew up in. They are renting their current home. In order to pay for some other bill or bills, they did not continue with rental insurance. So - the home itself, is covered by insurance, but them and their possessions included in the fire, were not. None of their memories or items are covered.
My Dad has to have a shoulder surgery in the next month. He will then go on disability for work, which means, while on disability - he will only be receiving a fraction of his paycheck.
My Mother, works for the HeadStart program, and since it is only run during 9 months out of the year- goes on unemployment in the summer....making bills and life that much harder. Now with my Dad out of work, it adds even more stress.
Matt, my brother who lives at home with my parents, has had a hard time. One of his best friends was killed in an automobile accident a few years out of high school. My Grandpa, who Matt was close to, died of a horrible form of cancer. Matt has been lost and terribly depressed for a long time. There were weeks/months when it was an effort for him to get off the couch. He has tried to pull himself together many times. He is one of the most generous, kind hearted souls I have ever known, but he continues to make decisions that continue to cause him pain. He has some legal issues that he is facing, that, when we know what the outcome will be, will alter the rest of his life.
Matt lost all of his clothes, computer, and vehicle in the fire. Many of his personal items are gone. If you have a moment, anyone - please send a card to my parents, Tim and Joy, and to Matt, my brother. I know they can get through this. It will be hard, but they will survive. Any note of kindness, or encouragement, would be appreciated greatly. Being involved in SOC has meant a lot to me, and I am only getting started. I can't wait to see how many lives I will touch with SOC. The reward of knowing you helped, with kindness is very much worth it.

I have a very dear friend, Debra Cole, who after several months of misdiagnosis has been found to have stage 3 breast cancer. She is currently at the Cancer Institute of America undergoing further testing to see if the cancer is anywhere else in her body. There have been numerous botched problems along this journey before going to the Cancer Institute and she is beginning to lose faith. I know it would mean so much to her if she could receive cards supporting her and giving her reason to continue to "Believe"!

Megan,
I have a friend, Claudia Foster, who has dedicated her life to helping others. She has organized clothing pantries at our school for those kids who come to school and have nothing. She has set up sub for santa's for numerous families over the holidays. She's run grief groups at our school for kids who lose loved ones. She has helped high schoolers with carreer counseling. Claudia has dedicated her life to helping others, and never asks for anything in return.
In the past year, she's lost her husband, aquired liver cancer, been unable to work due to the illness, and has now been forced to sell her beautiful home to move in with her mother. In tears she told me that she barley has enough to get the food she needs because she's unable to work now and living on Social Security.
Claudia is certainly someone who has figured out who she was and given herself away. Let's give back to her.....

Jordan, Thank you so much for agreeing to include my friend in your call. Her name is Kelli Morgan. She is a loving mother and grandmother. She joined my SOC team a little while back, and has turned into an amazing friend---she opens up her home, listens without judgement, and offers support and encouragement for whatever I am going through, good or bad.
For the past 2 months Kelli and I have been so looking forward to our trip to San Diego for her first Treat 'Em Right Seminar. I knew she would be so inspired by Kody and all of our great leaders, and I was beyond excited for her to experience the personal growth that comes from the abundance of reflection and positive energy radiating in the room. Unfortunately, a couple of days before the Treat 'Em Right, Kelli's son had an emergency that put him in the hospital, and she had to cancel her trip to San Diego. Kelli's son is home and somewhat "out of the woods" for now, but she is still overwhelmed and dealing with alot. Although there is no substitute for a Treat 'Em RIght, I was hoping we could give her a little taste by showering her with love, support and encouragement SOC style----I can think of no better way to lift her spirits right now than to flood her mailbox with some heartfelt cards. Cards can be sent to:

Nick Teichs is part of a husband/wife SOC team. He is also a Senior Master Chief in the Navy, and my friend.
A little over a week ago while working in Washington State, Nick collasped. I'm not sure of the details, but evidently it had something to do with a severe reaction to a medication he was just placed on. He went into ICU and his wife, Beverly Teichs, flew from Virginia immediately to be with him.
I found out today that Nick is doing better, eating on his own, and out of ICU. Not sure when he can return home. Many of you have met Beverly and a few have even met Nick at our Virginia Super Saturday. Will you please send Nick a card? He loves SOC,
and it would mean the world to him to return home to a mailbox full of cards.

Dear Megan, Thank you so much for making this forum available, as a means of sharing, inspirational stories about others. I would like to share one such story about a little girl named Juliette Geney or Warrior Princess as we like to call her. Juliette was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia or ALL in January of 2009. She has been undergoing treatments for over one year now and doing remarkably well! She still has over 13 months of treatments to go and I think it would be wonderful if we could all send her cards of encouragement. Personally she is my Hero! She has been so strong and amazing through all of this. I would like to recommend that everyone take a look at her website, read her story, read Kirsten's (her Mom) journals, they are amazing. They brought tears to my eyes and helped me see the struggles Juliette has been through. Her website link is as follows: www.caringbridge.org/visit/juliettegeney You will see on her website pictures, before & after, the one thing that doesn't change is her beautiful smile and the gleam in her eyes. Please send Juliette cards of encouragement, positive thoughts and well wishes.

My granddaughter, Gabrielle, started having seizures when she was 18 months old. The situation worsened and finally she was admitted to Duke University. Her medication was changed and it appeared that she was responding well. In the Middle of March '10, it was determined that she was still having seizure activity in her brain and the medication was increased. On Monday (3/29), she went back for a follow-up and the activity is continuing to increase.

April 1, 2010
Good morning everyone,
I'm making a personal request today and ask that you do me a favor to help celebrate the life of someone that has meant the world to me for my entire existence. As we speak, my father is battling an illness in the hospital and we are very worried that he may not make it back to the nursing home. Its really nothing new to see him go to the hospital, as we have seen him have mini-strokes, heart attacks, battle fluctuations of low blood pressure, etc but this has a different tone. You see my dad has struggled with dementia for over 11 years and its in the same family as Alzheimers, though worse because its so physically debilitating. Dementia patients can't eat themselves, brush their teeth, shave, walk at a very early stage, and you can only imagine the rest.
Whats so sad about the disease, is when you go into the memory loss units, you see some pitiful looking people, and you realize the lives they once led, and its just amazing that it all can be taken away over time to that degree. A couple of months ago I watched The Blindside with my two kids, and quietly watched in tears like most of us because the story was so moving. It was even more so for me, because you would have to know my story. The movie was about taking in a child on blind faith, a simple act of kindness, and making a difference in their lives. You see my parents did this four times, so when I made it to the car I just began crying and thanking God for the life that I have been given. My kids asked me what was wrong, and I explained to them what my parents did. As an adopted child, you get older, have your own children, and you realize the sacrifice and the blessing it is to have kids. You also realize that you could have been aborted, gone to someone looking for government handouts (don't get me started there!!), stayed with your birth parents that may have had issues, but really anything could have happened...who knows?? I have two sisters, Mona and Becky, one brother Monty, and we all come from different birth mothers so Mom and Dad randomly chose us among all the other children out there in foster homes. WOW....I am humbled when I think of how lucky I am to have had God bless me like that!!!
The rest of the story is you would have to know my father to fully understand it is impossible that he would have anyone say negative about him. Its literally impossible. I heard him say one cuss word EVER and it was when my mom shut the dishwasher on his hand!! :) I never heard him say one negative thing about anyone, other than a politician, was up everyday at 5:30 am reading his Bible and drinking coffee. He preached full-time when I was young, and eventually preached part-time, and taught Sociology and Religion at Tennessee Tech University. He would leave sometimes in the middle of the night to be with families during times of loss, and he never even would tell us about it. He didn't want any credit. He taught me how to play everything (all sports) when I was young, we practiced over and over until I got better, and he went to every game, or golf match, that he possibly could. Even when I was in my thirties and he was struggling to walk, my dad would still just walk the golf course to watch me play in tournaments. He has his PhD, was a brilliant man, taught me the value of an education, and everyone used to sit by him in Church just to hear him sing. I remember, vividly, my Dad shaking my hand just before I received my Degree from College and the look of pride on his face...I'll never forget it. He was one of God's finest people without question. I've often said there was only one perfect man that walked the Earth, Jesus, but the next in line was my Dad.
My mother has her own story but for the sake of time I will make it brief. Since I was a teenager, my mom has been taking care of the sick and elderly in her own home, or even traveling to be with her parents for 2 years after a stroke fell upon her mother, and she lived for approx 8 years to age 85 I believe. Next up was her Dad lived with her until he died at age 92, approximately 7 years later. One year later, about the time dad retired, we noticed he was having trouble remembering things he said, or did. So you guessed it, Mom took care of him until she was physically unable to cope with his illness. She would feed him, bathe him, dress him, and have to lock the doors to keep him from getting lost in our own neighborhood which happened all too often. She still visits him at least once a day in the nursing home, takes cookies and cake to all the residents, feeds strangers there, talks to them and takes a sincere interest in their well being in addition to her husband. She also works at her Church every week giving out food to the needy, and has volunteered countless times to help those in need, her kids being no exception.
I go in depth telling you about my family for two reasons, first because as you can see, I feel like the luckiest child in the world to have been raised by these two truly amazing people. I was born in Denver, CO and I ended up with them because they had a program to where Preachers could adopt children for the mere cost of the Birth Certificate, and ran across my Mom and Dad. So for $2 and a lot of love, the rest is history! Dad's disease is so puzzling, I wonder "why him?" so many times, but no one has answers. It's almost like they are "gone" before they are "gone", but both he and my mother live every day, seriously, with a great attitude. My dad woke up for the first time in a couple of days Sunday after getting rehydrated, and the first thing he did was put a smile on his face to see his family with him in his room.
The other reason I tell you this story is don't wait to act on resolving old conflicts, telling someone you love them, being nice to strangers, building new relationships, because you just don't know when your time, or a loved ones time is coming. I hear too many stories of someone holding a grudge from the past, and refusing to leave it there. The one that is most mature is the one that can break the "crazy cycle" of trying to figure out who is at fault. One person has the ability to positively impact the life of another human being and its up to us to spread that word. We have, in my opinion, a system that allows us to do just that. We talk a lot about our career, money, the SendOutCards opportunity, blah blah blah, but the ones that really get this business, are absolutely the nicest people with the best intentions. Today is the first day of the rest of your life and YOU have the ability to change lives. It's easy for me to follow the recipe of sending a card a day, and a gift a week, because its just a great habit. There's no way something bad can come from that! Am I too busy to spend 10 minutes to do that to make someone's day? None of us are and I'm grateful I get to teach people to do what I do...I truly am humbled, and I am blessed to have found this opportunity as it has truly changed my life.
Lastly, if you can find it in your heart to pray for them, send a card to my parents, Maurice and Nola Ethridge, 1310 Eastwood Drive, Cookeville, TN 38501 and help me show them what kind of people I work with daily, I would greatly appreciate it. I appreciate you reading my email, and for all the prayers and support many of you have already extended to my family. Have a blessed day and make it a point to make someone else's...

Chris, I left you a voice mail and everyone else I want to recruit your support for one of our SOC new distributors, Ledon Clayborn. His son Drew (14) was involved in a serious accident in school on Friday and broke his neck in 2 spots. He was air transported and is currently in intensive care at U of M Hospital. Hi Megan,
On March 19th, sixteen year old Eli Bird stumbled into the path of a cement truck in his home town of Allegan, MI. The truck ran over Eli's leg and back. Miraculously Eli suffered no injuries to his spine or internal organs but he did have his leg amputated below the knee. Eli remains in good spirits clinging to family, friends and faith. Eli is recovering well and has hopes of being fitted with a prosthesis in 3-4 months. Eli is an active member of the youth group at the church where his father is a pastor and his goal is to resume his role in helping other young people learn more about Christ. We are requesting your prayers for Eli to understand the purpose that God has for him and to be healed in spirit and body. Thank you.

Our friend Jody Marchand, was the victim of domestic abuse last month and we have just been given the go-ahead to send cards. Here is the situation: Her husband killed their 17 year old daughter, then critically wounded our friend Jody, and then took his own life. Jody is a friend of ours from BNI and also one of our SOC customers. We would greatly appreciate expressions of hope, prayers, and positive affirmations, to give Jody the encouragement to heal and keep moving forward. We would request that the incident not be mentioned in the cards; only expressions of hope. Thank you so much. This is truly what SOC is all about, and we will be forever grateful for the ways in which our SOC sisters and brothers reach out to one another. Here is her current contact information:

On August 1, 2009 my younger brother Marty (44) was in Lake Michigan with his son, one of our nephews, and three of our nieces when a rip current swept them out into deep waters in South Haven, Michigan. Marty was able to save all five young children but lost his own life in the effort. Marty died a hero that day, which is exactly how he lived his life. He was a social worker for 25 years and dedicated his life to helping others, particularly abused and neglected children. When someone was struggling, Marty was always the one to organize a fundraiser or benefit or even a memorial golf outing. "A hero can be a person who commits an act of selfless bravery. A hero can be someone who dedicates his career to helping abused and neglected children. A hero can be a great dad and a loving husband. Marty Jordan was all of those at the same time" -- Daily Herald August 7, 2009
Marty left behind his wife Maureen (also a social worker who worked with Hospice) and his sons Jack (10) and Liam (6) and daughter Caroline (4). The day he died Marty and Maureen were going to tell their 3 children that they had a 4th sibling on the way. Today, St. Patrick's Day, that fourth child was born. Martin Paul Jordan II was born at 7:46pm Chicago Time, weighing 8.3 pounds and 19.5 inches long. Mother and son are doing very well.Any words of encouragement for Maureen and the kids would be greatly appreciated:Maureen Jordan1437 S. 12th Street St. Charles, IL 60174Any small donation to www.MartyJordanFamilyBenefit.com would also help.

Among my team members today at Treat Em Right in Phoenix, was my guest Lorilei Wendt. We had a great time, enjoyed lunch with Jeff Packard, and met some of his team. Just after lunch Lorilei received a phone call that her mom had been admitted to the Hospital Emergency Room. She rushed out of the seminar in tears stuffing her folder and materials into her purse. When I called her later to ask her how her Mom was doing, she informed me that her Mom had a massive heart attack and had passed away. What a traumatic memory for Lorilei at her first Send Out Card event. I am sending her a card to express my sympathies, encouragement, and let her know I will keep her in my prayers. I can’t even imagine how she is feeling tonight.

Hi Megan I am a new SOC distributor and I LOVE this idea! Thank you for the opportunity to do acts of kindness. I volunteer at the Military Family Resource Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada. One of the ladies that volunteers a lot of her time there is a wonderful lady by the name of Brenda Small. Brenda has terminal ovarian cancer, has lost all her hair to chemotherapy, and COMES IN TO VOLUNTEER AFTER HAVING CHEMO THE SAME DAY!! Can you believe this amazing, dedicated, caring woman? Her husband also volunteers with and is a sweetie too. Brenda has a wonderful attitude and is a happy, loving person with a fabulous sense of humour, even with the cancer that she has been stricken with that will possibly end her life earlier then she expected. I believe in miracles though, and I have told her so. Doctors can be wrong, God works miracles every day. I am a much better person for having met her If SOC distributors could be so kind as to take a couple of minutes to send her a card to brighten her day I would be so grateful - Brenda would be quite tickled!

Hi Jordan,
I am on the road and do not have my list of email addresses ...

Thank you so much,
Tony and Barb Hepp,
Thornton, Colorado.

Hi Megan,
I would like to ask you to ask all the members to send a card of encouragement
to my husband Andy Webb (at the address below) who is giving up smoking.

Anjali Khatri is a three year old that carries a card that she received into chemo....along with her lip gloss...every ballerina warrior princess needs her lip gloss! She is called a warrior princess, because she continues to defy the odds in beating an aggressive childhood cancer. Can we flood this fellow little card lover with cards?

Megan,
Can you add this to the Random Acts of Kindness? My 13 yr old daughter Natalie (a professional dancer) fell and broke her foot last night and is completely crushed since she will be missing several competitions and a big production of Alice & Wonderland which she had a lead role. She is now on crutches and out for 6-8 weeks. Thanks!

My wife, Connie, and I are heading to Raleigh tonight.
Please put Gabrielle in your prayers and any cards of encouragement would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Megan,
On March 19th, sixteen year old Eli Bird stumbled into the path of a cement truck in his home town of Allegan, MI.

The cards can be sent to:
